My take on Lighter RH.

Why I farm it, what is announced, how to start, and what is still unknown.

Why I farm it

  • I farm it lightly, next to my main farms. It is Lighter, with its zero-fee standard accounts, on a separate book with a separate points pool.
  • The pool is the point: about $11M of LIT set aside for the Robinhood community, on a book much smaller than Lighter Core.
  • It is not a pre-token bet: LIT has traded since its TGE on December 30, 2025, so what this farms is a share of a token that already has a price. The open question is the points to LIT ratio, not whether there will be a token.
  • The market list goes well past crypto: US stocks and ETFs, metals, and pre-IPO names like OpenAI, Anthropic and SpaceX.

My take, not advice.

What we know

  • The Robinhood Chain instance is a dedicated Lighter deployment, not Lighter Core: its own contracts, sequencer, blockspace and liquidity. USDG is the quote and margin asset.

  • It went live with Robinhood Chain's mainnet on July 1, 2026. Robinhood Wallet trades on it in-app, and the public web app is robinhoodchain.lighter.xyz.
  • Retail trades with zero fees; Lighter earns from premium accounts that pay for access to the flow, and splits that revenue 50/50 with Robinhood. Perps through Robinhood Wallet are not offered in the US, UK, Canada, Switzerland, the UAE or Singapore.

  • Points program launched August 10, 2026: about $11M of LIT for the Robinhood community, 2x points on trades through Robinhood Wallet against 1x on Lighter's web app, distributed every Friday (first drop August 21).

  • 57 active markets on October 2, 2026, from the instance's public API: crypto (BTC, ETH, SOL, HYPE, LIT...), US stocks and ETFs (NVDA, TSLA, SPY, QQQ...), metals and oil, and pre-IPO OPENAI, ANTHROPIC and SPCX.

How to farm it

  1. 1Open the Lighter Robinhood Chain app, or the perps tab in Robinhood Wallet if it is offered where you live.
  2. 2Fund it with USDG on Robinhood Chain.
  3. 3Trade any perp on the instance. Trades through Robinhood Wallet earn 2x points, the web app 1x.
  4. 4Points land every Friday.

What we don't know

  • How many LIT a point is worth: no conversion rate is published, so the value of a point here depends on that ratio and on LIT's price.
  • When the program ends is not published.
  • Whether this pool and Lighter Core's points are ever combined is not stated.
  • Lighter can adjust, remove or reverse points for wash trading, sybils, bots or referral abuse, at its discretion.
